Start with the complete system

Choosing between a 48V, 60V, and 72V setup should not be reduced to one question: which number is larger?

What changes the result

Voltage affects how the electrical system is designed, but it does not describe the complete result. Motor characteristics, controller current, battery capacity, gearing, wheel size, vehicle weight, and rider weight all influence the finished configuration.

The decision standard

A lower-voltage system may suit recreational use when it is paired correctly. A higher-voltage system may support stronger performance, but it can also increase cost, weight, charging requirements, and the importance of heat management. Compare complete systems, not isolated voltage labels.
